Stefanina Vitale Roderick left behind her native Cinisi, Sicily at the young age of fifteen and immigrated to the United States with visions of achieving the American dream. After raising her family and working several years as a seamstress, Stefanina decided to take on the ambitious goal of starting her own business. The first Stefanina’s Pizzeria and Restaurant, situated in a mere 1,200 square foot space in an O’Fallon, Missouri strip center, opened its doors in April 1981. In 1984, the family business moved to its current location on Veterans Memorial Parkway, a former commercial garage.

Stefanina passed away in 1999, but her dream lives on today. Her family has carried on her traditions and turned her vision into a St. Charles County institution known for happy times, gratifying fare, and close family. Forty years later, despite decades of growth and change, the kitchen at Stefanina’s still begins each day with a fresh pot of sauce, a new batch of pizza dough, and homemade salad dressings and meatballs.
